Women's Chronic Pain

The Women’s Chronic Pain project by the Centre of Excellence for Women’s Health focuses on research and knowledge translation about chronic pain and prescription opioid use that reflects women’s lived experiences, recognizing that women report higher rates of chronic pain and are more likely to be prescribed opioids. It develops sex, gender, equity, and trauma informed resources — such as info sheets, guides, training modules, and policy reports — for women with chronic pain and the health/social service providers who support them. The project also collaborates with researchers, educators, and lived experience partners to advance equitable research and practice in women’s chronic pain care, while providing downloadable information sheets, infographics, resource guides, policy reports, and an online training module.
